The bidding:
The opening lead was the spade eight.
It seemed like green lights and blue skies when a confident South took his free finesse at trick one. Unfortunately, declarer had not boned up on card combinations. Looking at dummy, he counted two spades, three hearts, a diamond, and probably four clubs, producing an overtrick. What could go wrong?
